Kids Activity

Yesterday in my Introduction to Adapted Physical Activity class we were in the pool working with the kids.  On most days I just work with Patrick but since someone was absent I had Robert also. They are both good kids the only problem was keeping up with them. Patrick wasn't that interested in swimming but Robert was going right after it. So to keep track of both of them was tough at times. In the end though you could tell they both enjoyed the Olympic activities we completed. I also enjoyed working with both of them and seeing them develop their swimming skills.

The HP Touch Smart

The HP Touch Smart is a new computer that has complete touch screen features. Just recently I had completed some research on this product and was amazed with its features. It is hands on and a great product for presentations. Here a Slippery Rock the ahletics department is going to use the HP Touch Smart for the hall of fame. They are going to place the athletics hall of fame on the Touch Smart and you can browse it with a swipe of a finger. I think this is a great new technology with its many features. It also has a built in Windows Live Essentials which is various apps such as email, calendars and etc. Overall this is a great product to have because of its various interactive features.

Efolio

Today I finally finished my Efolio and was able to turn it in to Dr.Bian. I cant believe how much I have completed in my two years here at Slippery Rock University. This project has brought a lot of my accomplishments together into one place. I think this was a great project to complete with the advancements towards technology in our era. This will be a great artifact to show to future employers in the future. What does everyone else think of the Efolio process.

Slippery Rock Parking

That feeling when you pull into the entrance of Slippery Rock and see five cars waiting for a spot. Now its up to you to make a choice. Should you wait and hope their is a spot for you and try get to class on time? Or do you drive to the baseball lot and take a walk to the other side of campus? I dont know anyone that is really satisfied with parking here at Slippery Rock. There just isn't enough for all the students. This is just one of the frustration I feel students shouldn't have to deal with on a daily basis.

Suspension Decision

With the first round of playoffs in full swing with in the NHL organization, things are beginning to get a little chippy at times. We have seen many penalties been given as well as fines and suspensions. One of the most shocking offenses to me would be Weber's choice to grab Zetterberg by his head and push him into the glass. This offense did bring some penalties but no suspension. Also most recently Hossa was stretchered away from the game last night as he was hit by a player leaving his feet. The penalty has not been fully enforced here though. Then you have possibly the most chippy serious of the penguins and flyers. In this series as of last game the penguins come out with three suspensions with there playoffs close to an end. The question to be answered is the NHL making the right decision here? These offenses vary but I feel if the NHL wants the nonsense to stop they need to become more strict on these offenders and treat each team equally.

Fire On Ice

The Pittsburgh Penguins have moved up from their previous number seven spot to the number three spot in the NHL power rankings. This is most likely because of the outstanding performance of E. Malkin and J. Staal. Malkin is now tied for first with S. Stamkos for most points in the NHL. Lately him and his fellow penguins have been getting it done. The big stand out is the return of Staal who is performing better than he ever has before. Stated by NHL.com Jordan Staal is at his best points per game average in his career. he has tallied 33 points in his past 44 games. When I look at the power rankings I feel with the play lately the penguins should be atop the number one spots. They have been playing great lately and even blowing opponents out as they did over this weekend, handing the Avalanche a 5-1 loss. So who should be at the top of the NHL power rankings.

Where's Wallace

Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Wallace is hands down shown his ability to perform in the National Football League. The big question now is just how much is he worth. Without a deal in the next three weeks Mike Wallace will become a restricted free agent and a great opportunity for teams in need of a wide receiver. Currently the Steelers are somewhere around 10 million over the salary cap and need to make cuts somewhere. If they do decide to franchise tag Mike Wallace pushing up the cap, they will have tough decision to make elsewhere to cut their cap. Wallace is not alone, Hine Ward, Aaron Smith, James Farrior, and Casey Hampton also need a renewal. When it comes to Wallace the Steelers have to make a decision. They could decide to not keep Mike Wallace and take the chance of him going to a rival such as the Ravens or Bengals. They do have a pretty good core in the wide receiver position with Brown and Sanders stepping up their performance. On the other hand the Steelers could keep the speedy Wallace in their line up. They know his abilities and know he can perform. This would force them into making major cuts elsewhere in their roster.

So Where's Wallace... going to play this up coming season.
